The Total Recoil is essentially a very long Power Leash but is design to be staked into the ground. It is one of the single best training devices to build muscle and endurance while allowing your dog to have a good time. Dogtown Company took the Total Recoil, a  similar to a device used  by Schutzhund  competitors in prey testing/training, and improved on it. The elastic is doubled and fitted through a nylon cover to protect it from use. A heavy snap is used for added security and durability.
